I know. Look, I know, alright? I should know better. But I’m an optimist. And Sonic Lost World keeps looking sweet.
It’ll inevitably be terrible on release (it’s out on 3DS and Wii U on October 22), but for now, let’s watch the video below and pretend that we’re already playing it, and we keep telling other “I know, I can’t believe it, they finally did it“.

I have a fairly simple rule with Sonic. If it’s not a 2D Sidescroller, I’m not buying it.

Nope. I’ll stick with my mega drive and good sonic games.
I thought the Sonic Cycle stuff ended with Sonic Unleashed… Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations were great games.
EDIT: And this is coming from a long time SEGA fan btw.
It LOOKS good, of course it LOOKS good. But wait till you play it, then start ranting and raving.
I have bought two Sonic games in the last couple years and they were both good. Generations was fantastic, and Sonic and All stars Racing Transformed was one of the most fun racers I’ve played since Mario 64 (its also almost scrupulously fair, drivers are balanced and the tracks are a trip down nostalgia lain.
I second Generations being an amazing game. Hit me right in the nostalgia, and reminded me sonic works as a game.
The Sonic cycle hasn’t been relevant since people widely considered Sonic Colours to be a decent game (sorry @akumajobelmont, but Sonic Unleashed. . . while it had great day time stages, the warehog bit put a lot of people off. . .)
That being said don’t let the opportunity to once again bash the Sonic fanbase pass you by. . . it’s too bad that at this moment Sonic Lost Worlds looks to be a more promising title than Super Mario 3D World. . .

EDIT: Also, as mentioned above, both All Stars Racing games were awesome. I like both better than the latest Mario Kart titles. Especially Transformed… phenomenal game.
This game looked awesome 3 trailers ago. Just keeps getting better. I was sold on the flying sonic, then all the others………sweet.
