The App Store Is Now EA’s Biggest Source Of Revenue

The results from from Quarter 1 of this year are in, and EA has officially made more money from smartphones and tablets than any other retailer, including it own online retail service, Origin.

In a VentureBeat article, it was reported that while EA is staying mum over the exact split between iOS and Android, over $90 million USD was made from touch devices in Q1, and EA was the largest publisher on the app store in terms of downloads.

According to COO Peter Moore, “Apple was EA’s biggest retail partner as measured by sales. That is a first.” Three main games were responsible for the strong quarter, and those were identified as The Simpsons: Tapped Out, Real Racing 3, and The Sims Freeplay.
