I love Borderlands, and Borderlands 2 even more so, but the sheer amount of DLC truly disturbs me
I looked at this very game, and its DLC, on steam today and to get the entire collection work out to be a little over $200
Is it just me, or is this just a little bit on the extreme side?
I don’t really have a problem with it. The base game is huge already, and the first 2 DLCs seemed to be pretty massive too (still haven’t played the last 2 yet). Basically, I think it’s pretty awesome to have so much content for such an awesome game
Oh I completely agree that the content is awesome
$200 seems a big slug off the bat, but I guess you wouldn’t notice the price tag as much if you bought it incrementally
I managed to get lucky and got Borderlands 2 for about $10 on XBL and the first 3 expansions half price, I guess it’s just how you time it. Mind you for the third inevitable game I may have a harder time resisting on next gen… for texture popping BS alone 😛
The Season pass includes the story DLCs- you’re double counting some of it 🙂
I’m with you, we were just discussing this at work. The game itself was well worth the money I paid for it during the summer sale, I haven’t bought any DLC yet which is the point I guess, if you really love the game then you want more of it… you just have to pay for it!
A large amount of that DLC is character skins though.
By large amount you mean 2 right? Now I admit creature slaughter dome isn’t that great but it’s still content. 4 Expansion packs and 2 Character packs.
I got day 1 edition with a free Mechromancer, I got 2400 points for $20 that night. In all I’m happy with my purchase, just wish our 4th player would buy the DLC.
I’m talking about the $200 worth on Steam that the OP highlighted.
I think this GOTY deal is a great deal, but I’ve already got most of what it has to offer 🙂
You have a bizarre definition of “a large amount” o.0
There are 34 separate pieces of DLC on Steam. 24 of those are the “domination” “supremacy” “madness” etc packs, which are skins.
Now, granted, to buy all the DLC without the Season pass is silly, but the majority of the dlc listed on Steam is character skins.
Wow I didn’t realize there were so many separate DLC skins on Steam o.0
I was thinking content-wise, since the actual story DLCs are pretty damn big. But okay, yeah, that’s a lot of items to grab separately.
Unless you’re a hardcore collector I wouldn’t expect people to grab more than one or two skins 🙂
I’ll probably grab this on PS3 if anybodys down.
PC for me
