If I could go back in time and tell 1990s Jason that one day, he’ll be able to play Sonic the Hedgehog on a portable 3D system, he would probably say something like “Whoa, is the Game Gear gonna have 3D?”
1990s Jason is not very good at predicting the future. I’d have to explain to him that no, Sega’s re-releasing Genesis games on the Nintendo 3DS, and a bunch of them are hitting in late 2013. (At this point he would probably get bored and go back to playing Shining Force on his Game Gear.)
Via Sega, here’s a full list of the games they’ll be re-releasing on 3DS later this year:
* 3D Space Harrier™, 3D Super Hang-On™ – 11/28/2013
* 3D Sonic The Hedgehog™, 3D Altered Beast™ – 12/5/2013
* 3D Ecco the Dolphin™, 3D Galaxy Force™ II – 12/12/2013
* 3D Shinobi™ III, 3D Streets of Rage™ – 12/19/2013
They’ll all be $US5.99/€4.99/£4.49. Game Gear not included.

Gives whole new meaning to “Rise from your grave”.

Needs more After Burner.
Tojam and Earl wouldn’t go astray either
Also Streets of Rage II. Especially given that it’s superior to the original in every way, and they’ve got a whole bunch of other sequels in there rather than the originals.
Also “/$AUD9.99” for sure
Also I’m being too damn negative. So: I hope you all have a wonderful afternoon!
Whilst Streets of Rage 2 is a very good game, I thought Streets Of Rage 3 was the best game in the series ever.
Unlocking Roo. That was a moment clearly locked into my Mega Drive Memories.
