Lots of elements reappear in Pokémon games across generations — but one of the very first things we experience in every Pokémon game has to be going up to our television and finding a game system hooked up.
It’s always a Nintendo system — typically whatever was new at the time. Pokemon X & Y, for example, puts a Wii U in your room.
Courtesy of Reddit user electricmastro, here are all the consoles that appear in Pokemon games. Oh, memories.

Oh man, this is some product placement I like. I enjoyed seeing Sega consoles in Alpha Protocol too. XD The occasional Xbox in Alan Wake as well.
Yep, as well as the Playstation in MGS and GameCube in MGS: The Twin Snakes, it’s nice to find.
Awesome, I played the N64 😛
I always enjoyed seeing those as a kid.
So why did the original Pokémon Red have a SNES, but Fire Red had a NES?
I remember being annoyed that Ryo had a Saturn in the original Shenmue, even though it was set in 1986.
About time someone complied this hugely important aspect of the Pokémon series (hugely important for me at least). Just a little bit annoying all the characters in these shots are standing in front of half of the systems.
You missed the SNES in the copycats house with a game that has Mario with a bucket on his head.
