Video gaming’s not a sport? Don’t tell that to MLG.TV — an Internet-broadcast network that’ll showcase the league’s major events and, yes, broadcast a studio show with highlights and news, akin to the coverage that, yes, real sports get.
MLG announced the new programming venture today in this story at TechCrunch. The broadcast will stream up 1080p high-definition video, and subscribers should definitely see an improvement in video performance as compared to previously streamed events.
Thursdays, MLG.tv will air its eSports Report (pictured above), a studio show recapping the week’s news and events. MLG intends to have “a TV-like linear programming schedule,” TechCrunch reports.
The network begins broadcasting this weekend with the MLG Championships, which will include the first Call of Duty: Ghosts tournament. An international Dota 2 tournament will also be streamed over the network. Broadcasts will run from Friday through to Sunday.
MLG.tv has a couple of partners in the venture, and will air shows from OpTic Gaming (a Call of Duty team) and the European league Gfinity.

it never occurred to me until right now that they’re probably charging money for this… baaahahahaha goodluck with that. then again, the nerds it’s aimed at will probably pay for anything
