Interacting with others in the online horror game DayZ is essential to survival, but it doesn’t always need to be serious. We’ve already seen quite a few examples where random accidents created hilarious moments. You only have to go through the user reviews of the game on Steam to see that a normal day in DayZ is not as serious as intended, and it’s actually quite messed up for everyone.
Here are some of the best ones, portraying the true horror of survival in Chernaus, caused not by zombies, but by other players:

I think I need this game.
Are there even zombies in this game anymore or is it just a bunch of starving madmen running around in their underpants drinking harmful chemicals until they fall from a high place and die?
Because honestly I’m way more interested in playing the latter.
Zombies are the backdrop of the game, sure they are there and can overwhelm you but they are a threat most people can contain. The game itself has been in existence long enough that people are taking it ‘less’ serious so you get these weird hold ups and random encounters with half naked people.
There are zombies as well but mostly it’s about madmen running around.
Yeah, it’s more about dealing with dicks (bandits), whacked out nutjobs and wigglers after a zombie crisis. Rocket could patch the zekes out and no one would know they’re gone.
I am so buying this when I get some spare cash.
Must. Have. This.
Sounds like it has only gotten better since the beta
Will it work on steamOS?
Yeah… Don’t be overly fooled, it is still ultimate alpha mode…
As buggy or more so then the mod.
Also, so many ss’s of text.. lol?
almost fully kitted after surviving bleeding out twice from zombie attacks i approached the NW airfield only to hear “PING, PING” and the screen coming up with “You are Dead”
NOOOOO my can opener.
10/10
I want to like this game, I really do, but these are perfect examples of why I fucking hate this game!
I don’t hate the game for it, but yeah, I’m not keen to put money on a game that has arseholes ruining a lot of it for me.
This is precisely what I intended to convey, though yours was much more articulate. The game itself, I have no problems with, it’s simply the players. It’s not like most games with a DM element where you can meet a random, or even form up a group and work together, because the community plays up the double crossing and the ruthlessness to such a high degree that the game, irrespective of what Rocket’s intention was initially, has devolved into double crossing, humiliation and betrayal for sport. If you like that kinda thing, by all means, have a blast, but if you’re buying it for thinking it’s a survival game, you’re in for a hell of a rude shock. I know the intention was to develop a survival game, but I don’t think he ever thought the force of nature that players would be fighting to survive against was the unrelenting douche from other players.
nah, needs mater chief to kick them all in the nuts.
Sure, I take on the Steam challenge then discover this game exists. WHHHHHHHY?!
I can’t wait for the standalone version of this to get better and come on sale again!
I currently prefer rust atm
Played a shipload of state of decay, no interest in DayZ cos human players just seem to have poorly programmed AI.
Suggest they just make an Asylum simulator and encourage them to go there
