The only thing better than Grand Theft Auto V is Grand Theft Auto V with cars that go crazy and try to murder everyone on the streets.
The GTA V Carmageddon mod has been around for a while, and this new video by taltigolt does an awesome job of showing it off. Watch and enjoy:
Of course, there’s no way to play this mod on a normal retail Xbox 360 or PS3, but modders have already been so creative with Rockstar’s open-world game, I can’t even imagine what they’ll do when it comes to PC. Here’s hoping for turn-based combat.

The problem I have with this is the cars spinning in circles for no reason. If they were really “trying to kill you” then why not, you know, drive at you and try to kill you?
Being unpredictable just heightens the entertainment value. All it takes is one car to run into a spinning car to turn it into an impromptu projectile.
Don’t get me wrong, I think it looks hilarious – just for something billed (in this article) as being “out [/try] to kill you” it’s more “driving in unpredictable circles that will likely kill you after a while”
Is it some combination of the regular AI trying to keep the car driving normally and whatever hack they’ve done fighting that?
Because the way this works is adjusting the Tire friction values to very high numbers, so the slightest movements of the wheels causes them to spaz out, there are no changes to AI or anything, its simply changing one number, youtube GTA 4 Carmageddon and you’ll see the same stuff.
Ahhh, so it’s the article that’s at fault (like I’d suspected) in that they’re not trying to actually kill you.
Yeah, this was done in GTA4 to much (much) hilarity:
I have heard that there is a way to change the settings on the cars, giving cars negative friction on their wheels. Therefore they fling in any random direction, or, like you said in circles. Parked cars are safe until you touch them or shoot them. Therefore if a car is stuck in a spin, you may be able to change its direction by a simple bullet. Or touching it. Which would probably not end well. Your choice.
I don’t blame them.
Sigh, more gifs. Gifs, gifs everywhere.
Semantics about the title aside, this actually looks like it could be fun. It’d be great if you could get a bunch of friends and see who can survive a run down the freeway.
Also “PC” lol?
Uh this happens on pretty much most GTA’s with a little help of cheats(which are nearly disappearing and turning into micro transactions). I miss the days of Vice city and San Andreas….
Maximum Overdrive, the drunk version.
There used to be a cheat in GTA3 where you gave every pedestrian a random weapon, and then another cheat to make every pedestrian super aggresive. Then my brother and I would set a goal to make it from one end of the city to the other.
I remember that being the most fun I’ve ever had in any GTA game.
