According to reports out of Japan, the president of social gaming giant Gree, Yoshikazu Tanaka, is being sued for allegedly making a young woman get an abortion.
Gree is one of the biggest social game companies in Japan. Forbes said its founder is Asia’s youngest self-made billionaire and called him one of “The World’s 12 Most Eligible Billionaire Bachelors.”
According to Sakura Financial News, the legal brief says the 20-something, unnamed woman met Tanaka in fall 2010 and they soon began seeing each other and living together off and on. He apparently also rented an apartment for her. The brief notes that when she told Tanaka she was pregnant, he allegedly said, “Even if you have it, nobody would be happy” and supposedly left money (Sakura Financial News reports that the money seems to have been for the abortion). Then, the brief states, Tanaka allegedly cut off communication. The woman claims she unwillingly chose to abort the child.
The woman is suing Tanaka for 30 million yen ($293,640) in damages. Legal proceedings began earlier today in a Tokyo District Court.

Linking this to games is very tenuous, Bashcraft. You’re like a Nintendo-loving TMZ.
Wait a sec… So after he left her, she then took herself to the clinic and had it aborted. So she wasn’t dragged by her hair kicking and screaming to a man with a coat hanger and a bad disposition? Doesn’t sound very “forced” to me. Sounds more like a rock and a hard place, which last I checked, isn’t a crime.
To most westerners it doesn’t seem forced. By way of culture in China(my heritage) and Japan along with similar cultures she was forced/coerced by social constructs. It is obvious that yes she didn’t have to do it, but that is easier said than done .
“It is obvious that yes she didn’t have to do it” undermining your own argument.
*Context: From a logical westerner stand point. Listen, if you want to quote phrases out of context like some cheap floozy from FOX news then continue with god speed my inadequately endowed fiend but you’re only undermining your own intelligence and integrity.
“continue with god speed my inadequately endowed fiend” well this escalated quickly. My issue with your opinion is that you seem to think that because Asian cultures are like this, that makes it ok for some guy to get charged for forcing a women to have an abortion on completely illogical, cultural stupidity. If this is what Asian cultures are like (as you have suggested) then maybe they need to get their shit together and stop being stupid and quit blaming others for choosing to have an abortions…
Living in Japan, that sounds about right. Single mother = looked down on by society in Japan. Shotgun weddings are still very much a thing here, especially with celebrities. So, no, not “forced” to do it, but certainly “not much other choice”. Japan has the highest suicide rate in the developed world for a reason, it’s not really a haven of tolerance and support.
