Ao Oni, the popular survival horror RPG Maker game — where you have to solve puzzles and escape from The Oni, a demon that appears and follows you randomly — is getting a Japanese live-action movie.

Just for comparison, here’s a shot from the game. The Oni and the setting may look nice and calm, but it is not.

And here’s the movie version of The Oni. It has already… changed… a lot. It is simply terrifying.

The movie will open in Japanese theatres on July 5 and will also feature the idol group AKB48’s Iriyama “Annin” Anna (see below) as the female lead.
