Help A PC Classic Return From The Dead

Help A PC Classic Return From The Dead

Outcast is one of the best games ever made for the PC. It is also, sadly, one of the most underrated, meaning that it’s never got a sequel. Or a spin-off. Or even a shitty mobile game.

But, hey, now we’re hopefully getting something. Last year, the creators of Outcast got together and bought back the rights to the game. Now they’re up on Kickstarter looking for the cash to make a HD remake of the 1999 space adventure.

The project will feature “graphic assets rebuilt from scratch in high definition and running on modern platforms using modern technologies”. The guys are careful to note that this is just a remake, not a sequel, however that’s slightly contradicted by the fact that one of their major stretch goals is to add a new world to the game.

If you want an idea of what this could all look like, a few years back some fans tried remaking the game in CryEngine 3.
