Now that Dark Souls II has been out for nearly a week on Steam, players have gotten a chance to get a feel for the game (read: die endlessly). This also means players have had a chance to review the fiendishly difficult RPG — and even if they’re don’t provide the most in-depth critiques of the game, they’re still pretty good.
Some reviews are even kind of hilarious, or at least raise some eyebrows. Let’s take a look, shall we? NSFW warning, due to language:
(The first one is in reference to this, the second one is in reference to this).
Yup, that about sums it up.

Those pigs have become my sworn enemies. I push each one into the giant hole every time I visit Majula, chuckling with a smug grin across my face.
I’ve missed out on a few Cracked Red Eye Orbs, but it’s sooooo worth it.
I almost died to them when I first reach Majula and I decided to have revenge when I hit SL100. Rape them piggies with +10 Bastard Sword
I hope it’s worth the wait! It’s fun to lure them to the cliffs and throw the fuckers off there with a shield bash too!
I honestly get way too much enjoyment out of it. It’s a nice break from dying, I guess.
That second last post has the game nailed!
Ivan Reitman couldn’t have written better himself.
YOU DIED
Well, I feel like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6c4ZuMg79g
Did you know a pack of Kobolds can strip the life from a Hollow in less than a second?
10/10 Welcome to Dark Souls.
(For those that have never realised, there are Kobolds in the grass right at the beginning of the game before even the pigs and if you punch one, a dozen more appear and you get mauled to death like the Raptor scene in Jurassic Park II)
definitely cool game but I’d highly recommend a controller for steam play. I got it on my laptop and keyboard controls are really not great. Or that’s what I’m blaming all my deaths on anyway.
Easily GOTY 2014 for me thus far (Xbox). On my 5th Playthrough currently and never get bored. Yeah, it’s a tough nut to crack, but takes me back to the days where video games didn’t hold your hand endlessly so your feelings didn’t get hurt when you died. This game beats you to a bloody pulp and it’s never felt as good as this. 10/10
