Nintendo has just dropped a new, over 30-minute long Nintendo Direct talking exclusively about the much-awaited Mario Kart 8. egments are dedicated to new items and tracks, in addition to details about the game’s online multiplayer modes.
Two brand new characters are also revealed: heavyweight driver Pink Gold Peach, and lightweight driver Baby Rosalina.
A new Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle will also be released alongside the game on May 30. Priced at $US330, it will include a Black Wii U Deluxe system, a red Wii Remote Plus and a red Wii Remote Wheel, along with the game itself.
Nintendo is also running another promotion until July 31 where, by registering your freshly bought copy of Mario Kart 8 with Club Nintendo, you can grab one of four Wii U games for free: Wii Party U, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, or New Super Mario Bros U.

EU offer for free games is a good deal better. Hopefully that deal covers AU for our local Wii U supporters 😉
edit: hmmm no word on the ninty’s AU site. It does detail a bundle is coming with Wii U premimum & MK8 but no wheel or wiimote at $429.95
On twitter Nintendo AU mentioned we get the free game deal ^^

Woo!
Ill wait a while longer. Not keen on Nintendo these days but If Nintendo do discontinue the WiiU ill pick one up when retailers clear Wii Us for cheap.
Hahaha that’s not gonna happen.
Well, not for another several years when the machine gets retired in place of the next one, like every other machine before it.
So you want this game, but are so vested on the failure of its producer so just you can pick it a bit cheaper? As opposed to. you know, buying it and helping the producer stay afloat so they can make more games that you’d WANT to own anyway?
What a short-term-sighted carrion bird.
Should be interesting to see what happens here. Mario Kart Wii sold about 35M copies. If they can do anything like that even as bundles it will give Wii U a huge boost and get them back in the game.
The live music compositions starting at 25:50 are insane, soooo good. Everyone needs some real jazz in their games these days
Agreed! The music is one of the things I’m most excited for. It’s no fun racing around if the music is crap:)
I got a free game when I bought my 3DS, too. I want this pretty badly.
If I didn’t need giant wads of cash for all manner of stupid real life stuff, I’d be picking up a WiiU MK8 bundle at gamesmen the day it came into stores.
I think I might do it – I’ve wanted a Wii U for a while but was waiting for one of their massive IP first. If I can get this plus Pikmin 3 for free, that’s all I need to get rolling
