I’m sorry I don’t understand the Bewit reference? Checking a dictionary it seems Bewit has a few meanings, from bequeath, to govern and including a small leather strap with bells on used in Falconry.
I assume he was going to pun it up with “bewitching”
Ahhh … I guess I missed that one.
Bewit eh?…. trying to hard me thinks.
Some of these look very much like concept art for Game of Thrones. You’ve got the Tree, a Giant, burnt down villages with dead bodies, Edderd “Ned” Stark’s tomb under Winterfell and the Cold snowy places can relate to the North.
Though a lot of games and movies can relate to these…
You pretty much negated your entire first paragraph with your followin sentence. If you want the real progenitor of this sort of stuff you’re looking at least 50-100 years back at some pretty obscure artists, and even they’re just ‘drawing from Beofwulf bro.’
Game of Thrones is popular, which is different to being ‘original.’ Probably just best to appreciate this amazing art for what it is 🙂
Beautiful.
