It’s been a long time coming, but Cliff Bleszinski has finally taken the lid off his next game and the first project he’s embarking on since he left Epic Games two years ago. It’s code-named “Blue Streak”, and he describes it as a free-to-play sci-fi arena shooter for the PC.
Friends, @BossKey will be working with Nexon to publish a Free2Play Sci-Fi PC arena shooter code named #BlueStreak. #BossKey #UnlockTheFun

The game is being made by Boss Key Productions, Bleszinski’s new studio. The team there is working with Nexon, a Tokyo-based company known for making a wide variety of free-to-play online games.
Bleszinski didn’t have much to say about the new game besides confirming that it’s in development. In true CliffyB fashion, he took the opportunity to throw a little shade at the big-budget gaming hype machine he stepped away from when he left Epic:
And no, there won’t be a fake CG trailer showing “Gameplay” because that’s not how @bosskey does it.

Cliff Bleszinski’s relative absence from proper game development has left many gamers hungry for just about any news of what the guy is up to. He first made a name for himself at Epic Games, where he worked for two decades as a key figure on iconic games like Jazz Jackrabbit and the Gears of War shooter. In October of 2012, he announced that he was leaving Epic to “chart the next stage of his career”. He’s remained relatively quiet since then, save for an interview last December when he hinted that he was working on a “proper” PC shooter. At the end of June he said on Twitter that he is “officially coming out of retirement to make video games again”.

No fake CG trailer because that’s not how he does it. But he is fine by announcing an announcement. The game doesn’t even have a final name.
YAY. The arena shooter is about to be resurrected! Hope it has remake of Deck 17 in there somewhere…
He doesn’t even have employees yet, just an idea. Even being optimistic, you have to figure this game is still 3-4 years away. I think it’s crazy to be trying to get a buzz going about it now…
Project Bluestreak? Soooo… it’s an arena shooter with harsh language?
I got this feeling its gonna flop
A “proper” PC shooter. Is F2P. Contradictory?
F2P Nexon? No effing thanks. They’re poison. The new UT will blow this out of the water. CliffyB is a hack.
A “proper” pc shooter ey? And f2p? I think only valve can pull something like that off but I’m open to the idea.
