That Tetris GIF. You know the one. It’s an affront to humanity. There is a massive Tetris game in progress. A straight four block appears — you know the one I’m talking about. It hurtles slowly towards what you expect would be its final destination only to change direction at the very last second, leaving you empty, broken and unfulfilled. It’s the worst GIF of all time. Easily.
It exists to disappoint. It exists to break hearts, to break your will, to end your faith in humanity. In fact, it’s everything that’s wrong with humanity.
So thank the good lord someone decided to fix it. I don’t know who did this — I came across this on Reddit — but if I ever find this person I am going to give her/him a firm handshake and offer to buy her/him lunch sometime at her/his discretion. Goddammit this person has earned it.
Here, in all its glory, is what we all hoped and dreamed would come next after that horrendous, spirit-breaking original GIF…
Now my soul can finally rest.

If you use Firefox, install this – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/toggle-animated-gifs/?src=userprofile
It stops the gifs from auto-starting when the page loads, and overlays playback controls.
It wasnt THAT satisfying. They could have at least let the victory sink in for a little more than a blink….
NES-style flash and stuff, yeah!
I go back to watch the “Fish play Pokemon” on Twich. Maybe you could write something about it Marky? 🙂 Google it!
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it mentioned on here at least once already.
I enjoy the original more than the edited version. Some people just want to watch the Tetris World burn…
The original wasn’t that bad. Rather than move it sideways he could have turned it sideways instead.
Original made me laugh, your suggestion made me laugh more.
Good god, what… what is wrong with a person that this could even come to mind?
It has solved my OCD problem…
How is this fixing it? The lines come back again! It’s like Sisyphean Tetris.
I am the man who arranges the blocks that descend upon me from up above.
They come down and I spin them around ’til they fit in the ground like hand in glove.
Sometimes it seems that to move blocks is fine and the lines will be formed as they fall
Then I see that I have misjudged it. I should not have nudged it after all.
Can I have a long one please?
Why must these infernal blocks tease!?
Disgression isn’t a word @markserrels
