The Sims 4 is going to be an emotional experience for many people. Not just real people either — remember, this is a game about playing god for a bunch of digital sprites who are beholden to your every whim. The latest trailer breaks down the many different feelings you’ll be able to force your sims to start feeling come September:
Here’s the emotional chart of The Sims 4, judging by the content you just witnessed:
- Happy
- Angry
- Playful
- Sad
- Bored
- Focused
- Energized
- Dazed
- Flirtatious
- Uncomfortable
- Inspired
- Tense
- Confident
- Embarassed
Seems like a solid list and all. But where the hell is the ennui button? Or schadenfreude? Or that listless feeling you get when you realise that you are but an infinitesimal speck in a universe so vast that it exceeds the limits of your comprehension?
Sigh. I guess I’ll have to wait for the Existentialism DLC pack…

It’s like a pool of emotion just without the pool.
I wonder if there will be DLC face animations.. Smug coming soon!

Have all been removed, your sim is now perpetually ‘happy’. To experience these emotions and more, please buy our ‘CAN U FEEL IT!’ pack from the EA store for only 99.95! Day one DLC.
Oh come on, don’t be silly…
…you won’t get all of those in day 1 DLC. You’ll need a few packs for that, generously priced at USD $29.95 each. Which is, what in local currency? AuD $59.95?
You’re right, only 2 feels per pack.
All labelled “THE SIMS: FEELIN YOU UP! pack 1, 2 3 4 5 6 7 8”
Don’t forget the convenient all-in-one pack released 1 week after pack 8 ships, featuring 2 bonus feels: ‘Gassy’ and ‘apathetic’.
how did they manage to make the sims and graphics in general for that matter look worse than sims 3? Incompetence knows no bounds at EA.
