Remember how October was the month of All The Video Games? This is no longer true. Assassin’s Creed Unity will now be out on November 11, Ubisoft said today. That’s a two-week bump for the upcoming action game.
Unity, which will be out for current-gen consoles and PC, will now release alongside Assassin’s Creed Rogue, which is for 360 and PS3. (No AC on Wii U this year, sorry to say.)
“This being a fully next-gen game, it requires a lot of work, a lot of production, and a lot of learning,” Unity senior producer Vincent Pontbriand said on Ubisoft’s blog today. “It’s always hard to be precise and to quantify exactly how much work is involved. So as we get close to the finish we often realise we’re near the target but we’re not quite there yet.”
This follows a string of October delays including Evolve (October -> February 2015), Battlefield Hardline (October -> early 2015), and Dragon Age Inquisition (October -> November). I assume this is because everyone listened when I said October was an insane month for video games.

November 11 is when Skyrim was released. Coincidence? Yeah, probably.
What turdisim.
I think people are delaying a lot of games due to fear of ‘destiny’ stealing all market share and lime light
It used to be loaded…
I’m fine with this, October is still loaded, and I was gonna be playing Sunset Overdrive anyway
GTA in November.
Shouldn’t there be more hype if this was true?
It’s not really a new GTA, only new to next-gen (current gen now?), so the hype train isn’t chugging along as it would for a new-new GTA. I think the issue with heists has killed a lot of momentum it had too.
I’ll be pleasantly suprised if released this year.
My wallet thanks them!
Okay so aside from Sunset OD what else is coming in Oct?
Forza Horizon 2, Driveclub, Shadow of Mordor, Alien Isolation, NBA 2k15, Borderlands Pre-sequel, The Evil Within. Has opened up quite a bit now. Assassins, Battlefield, Evolve and Dragon Age all shifted.
I’m fine with this and even wrote so on their announcement post on Facebook. If they are delaying it as they have said to fine-tune details and fix bugs & issues so as to give us the best experience on launch, then I will gladly wait. So many games stick to their announced release date even if they aren’t 100%. We have seen this plenty of times recently.
Now they know how PC players felt 😛
