We’ve seen people make static maps, sure, but this is something else entirely. This is an attempt to bring the entire game of Ocarina of Time from the 3D world of the N64 to the 2D world of the SNES.
It’s nothing if not ambitious. There’s a day/night cycle, a downgraded soundtrack and the game’s signature time system. Even OoT’s cutscenes have been redone in 2D.
The project is nowhere near finished, but you can actually download a demo and try out the parts that are right now.

Like what Dampé did? Or tried to do.
Before faking his death or something.
C&D notice in 3,2,1…
I remember trying this when I was playing around with the old RPG maker 2000 back in the day.
A few things bugged me though. The day isn’t supposed to cycle inside Kokiri Village and Link’s Walk cycle.
I still appreciate the effort though, Good to see there is still such a strong fan base for this sort of stuff.
Is this being made to run on actual SNES hardware or just runs on PC and in the style?
Edit
How does one create the Water Temple in 2D?
