It’s not every day you get to see a Super Famicom (aka SNES) sitting on top of Japan’s highest mountain. On Japanese web forum 2ch, one commenter recently brought the console with him as he climbed Mt Fuji, writing, “The feeling of nature and harmony is freakin’ amazing hahahaha.”
Obviously, it would be difficult (but not impossible) to play a Super Famicom on Mt Fuji. The idea for bringing the console was kind of like when you see old cars overgrown with nature — how they become one with the environment.
“Another thought, though, is that the big and bulky Super Famicom is unsuitable for mountain climbing,” the commenter joked.
They also sell beer on Mt Fuji — overpriced beer. That normal-sized can of Asahi is around $6 (usually, they’re around $1.75).
Here’s the Super Famicom and the recent Super Moon.
Gosh, that’s stunning.
The heroic climber and his console. (Note: the 2ch user censored his own image.)
And the heroic console.
The commenter concluded, “Mt Fuji is plenty fun even if you don’t bring a Super Famicom.” Duly noted.

Wouldn’t an Atari have made more sense? I think so
And it’s loaded with Terranigma goodness! Best game on SNES!
