Because there’s no better time to drop fresh Pokémon news than minutes after a major preview embargo lifts, The Pokémon Company gives us “Soar” a new ability that allows players of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire the ability to fly through the air on the backs of Mega Latias and Latios.
Securing Latios (Ruby) and Latias (Sapphire) will prove a challenge, requiring an Eon Ticket to travel to Hoenn’s Southern Island in order to capture them — an Eon ticket we’re not even sure how to acquire yet — but the hassle will be worth it once the pair Mega Evolve into aeroplanes in the night sky (like shooting stars). Note: As mentioned in comments, one the pair will be encountered once in the main story, the Eon ticket is required for picking up the other.
Once transformed, this big old jet air-Latios and Latias will allow players to fly through the skies, performing tricks and searching for special Mirage spots where incredibly rare Pokémon can be found. Make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened and check out the video below.
In other news, remember that demo version of the two games mentioned in Patricia’s preview earlier this morning? That will be out on October 21. You’ll need to be a newsletter-receiving member of the Pokémon Trainer’s Club to get a special code for it, so sign up at Pokemon.com before October 18.
What else? More Megas, the PokéNav Plus — this is going to be once crazy pair of remakes.

I got my demo code! I’ve downloaded it and I’m so excited to finally play it after my grueling exams over the next 3 days. Woo!
wow how do you sign up for that!
Sadly, it was a Club Nintendo email you could recieve, sent out at 11am on the 15th. The demo isn’t much to crow about, though – check serebii.net, the only important things in the demo were two new megas, once you replay it after that, it gets boring.
My download is at 99%
Looks cool.
Eugh, is this code supposed to go out to all club nintendo members? Like Smash Brothers, I find myself without one.
You can have mine if you want i’m probably not gonna use it
Thanks buddy but I managed to get one from a friend 🙂
‘Select’ Club Nintendo members.
I got no Smash love and I got no ORAS code. Luckily some friends offered me one.
I’m like you, I didn’t get a code for either. Yet no one I know as one.
Ok so I think I worked something out.
There is TWO separate things here, the ‘Club Nintendo’ where you register your games for stars and redeemables and the like, and the ‘Nintendo Member’s Newsletter’ where you register to receive emails. I believe you need to be a member of the latter for these codes http://www.nintendo.com.au/login
Don’t get me started on the ridiculousness of this.
Whoa! Thank you for finding this!
Mega Bird Jesus!
October 15 for Australia, according to the email.
Got mine today in Oz.
“Do a barrel roll”, cue many people on mega lati@s doing barrel rolls while filming themselves over hoenn
I got no Smash code and I haven’t got a ORAS one either. =/
I got 2 different codes for some reason. First person to PM me gets my spare.
I’m not sure how to send a PM on kotaku yet. Still got it?
Yeah I still have it. I did not know Kotaku did not have a PM feature until this morning! Oops
Could you send me an email with it? Shadow29@live.com?
What are the ways of obtaining the codes in Australia?
