Fireworks Simulator Goes To Show You Can Make A Sim Of Just About Anything

I won’t pretend to understand the wide appeal of the various esoteric simulator games that have popped up in recent times. Everything from farming and trucks to, well, goats is now catered for in this lovely reality we live in. The only thing missing? Fireworks, obviously. And they’re cracking good fun, so why not have a game that lets you fire explosive prettiness into the sky… or simulate the experience, at least?

Created by German outfit Reality Twist, Fireworks Simulator is exactly what it says on the tin. Exactly. It’s even “developed in cooperation with certified pyrotechnicians”, as the trailer boldly exclaims. It offers a sandbox to build your displays, which you can record and share from “up to six different camera angles”.

I wish I knew a bit more about the technicalities of fireworks to give this a fair assessment, but what I can say is that it is rather pretty to watch. And with 100 “authentic” effects at your beck and call, I’m sure you can have a crack at doing your own version of New Years. A better version.

It’s currently available on Steam for 15 per cent off, or $US8.49 in freedom dollars.
