Last year’s Assassin’s Creed included references to Watch Dogs. This year’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue for PS3 and Xbox 360 has a joke about another Ubisoft game, the lovely Child of Light. Check it out, if you don’t mind a tiny spoiler about where part of Rogue takes place.
I ran into these guys by accident while poking around in the modern day part of the game. They are doing work at the fictional video game company Abstergo Entertainment, which creates video games based on the past lives that people experience using a device called the Animus. Basically, the idea of the Assassin’s Creed games is that, when you’re running around in 18th-century America or 15th-century Italy, you’re using the Animus. Rogue and last year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag had you using the Animus as part of Abstergo’s efforts to make video games out of Animus experiences. Oh, and Abstergo is run by the sort-of-evil Assassin-hating Templars. There’s that, too.
As for the rest of Rogue, I’ll have a review for you… eventually. Ideally later this week? Short preview of the review: It’s a pretty good game! It might even be a really good game!

I was thinking of streaming Rogue for people who chose Unity over it. Good thing is, I just got past the point where the story actually becomes interesting. Shay was rather boring until you reach the moment where he betrays the Creed. That’s not a spoiler too, it’s the crux of the game.
Best part is, while exploring cities, you’re regularly attacked by Assassins trying to kill you. They’ll do everything you’ve done including hiding in bushes and trying to perform air assassinations on you.
Those whispers are kind of creepy
I like it. I always liked it in multiplayer too, problem is you can’t hear it for long since 99% of all players are playing it like Call of Duty and are just sprinting directly at you.
