Back is September, First 4 Figures revealed the first in their new line of Mega Man statues. It was nice if a bit too Astro Boy for my tastes. Now the company unveils its first Mega Man X statue. That’s more like it.
Not that I have anything against the original Mega Man. He’s an adorable little robot scamp that made me feel like a total badass when I was much younger than I am now. But X from Mega Man X? He’s tall and sleek and stylish. He’s just so much cooler.
That’s not always a good thing. You see Mega Man coming at you and you’re all “Oh look, it’s an adorable little robot boy. He’s so cute! Why is his arm glowing? OH GOD.” On the other hand (I know there’s just one hand), X shows up and you’re already ducking behind futuristic boxes and begging for your futuristic life. Futuristic.
And then X does this, and you admire his form as you’re blasted into pieces.
And those LED lights! Not a Dr. Light original, ironically enough, but pretty damn cool. They go all the way up, from his feet to his X Buster to his helmet, adding up to 17 inches of glowing blue bomber.
The X statue is now up for preorder over at First 4 Figures for $US260, with an expected ship date somewhere in the third quarter of 2015. The run is limited to 1000 pieces. The coolness knows no bounds.

that other megaman x statue prototype was much cooler than this, hope this one doesnt interfere with them getting licensing
*Sigh*
I want a Mega Man game, not a statue =(
It’s like a depressing memorial.
Mighty No.9 looks better than mega man!

But I grew up with Mega Man, I’m invested in the story and characters. I find it hard to start fresh.
It’s like if The Legend Of Zelda series suddenly stopped, no new games are made, the creator unable to touch him, and then you get Legendo Of Kokurumizu on kickstarter.
