PAX Australia Tickets For 2015 Are Now On Sale

We've just gotten word from the organisers of PAX Australia that tickets are now on-sale.

Yes, I know! PAX Australia just happened right. But these are tickets for next year, for 2015.

You can find out more details and sort out tickets here

The dates are...

PAX Show Hours: Friday, 30th October 10:00 am - 11:30 pm Saturday, 31st October 10:00 am - 11:30 pm Sunday, 1st November 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Expo Hall Hours: Friday, 30th October 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Saturday, 31st October 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Sunday, 1st November 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

The 3-day pass costs $150, with daily passes costing $55. These are 'early bird' prices. They go up slightly to $160 for the 3-day pass and $60 from June 30 2015, so you have plenty of time. Unless they sell out.

Comments

Go home PAX, you're drunk. Come back and see us next year when we have money.

This hurts me right in the wallet...

EDIT: Well it will next pay, just looked in the bank. NOOOOPPEEE.

    3-day pass bought with insurance!

Same here. Graduated uni this semester, so PAX wasn't a problem, but if I end up getting a teaching position, it might cause issues. Definitely worth the 5 bucks.

What sorts of things does it cover?
Claimable circumstances are injury or sickness to you (or family member if you need to act as their
primary carer during PAX), national/civil service, redundancy from full time employment and death.
Claims need to be made up to 2 weeks prior to the event. Claims made after this date are invalid and
        will not be paid.
Badge insurance does not cover change of mind, change of availability due to other events, exams or
school commitments, cancelled leave, cancelled flights, work commitments or other circumstances not
explicitly mentioned above. It also doesn’t cover you losing your badge, lost badges due to address
changes not reported before the cut-off date and to Australia Post.

        It doesn't cover work commitments.

Is there a reason they have to start selling the tickets this far in advance?

The money can earn more interest? I know that's a reason people have thrown around for game stores opening up and encouraging preorders so early.

Also makes it easier to plan with a more accurate expectation of attendees, good for negotiating with vendors etc. There's a hell of a lot of work that goes into these things many months (sometimes years) in advance.

    Well that's my tickets bought.

OH CRAP, only 332 days left to book flights and accom! :O

Better hurry, hotels are such will be filling up now for the Melbourne Cup :P

I waited until Mid-September to book my hotel last year, I reckon I'll be right. :P

Well I waited until 2 weeks prior.

Oh yeah? well I booked mine the day AFTER PAX!

Pfft, I'm going to wait until October, book a hotel, which will be almost a year after!

I booked the first hotel (sunday preceeding PAX) at 10:30pm the night before. :D

Yep. Booked mine a month before PAX too. Plenty of accommodation in Melbourne.

      Pleeeeenty of time...

Meaning I'll probably not end up booking til a week or two ahead. Again.

Ok I lied. I've just booked a hotel. Get 4 nights (arrive Thursday leave Monday) for what I paid for 2 by delaying, and I get free cancellation and only have to pay a deposit now. Too good to pass up.

      Now... Flights!

Nah, I can wait on flights.

Knowing that they'd go on sale this week, I activated Twitter notifications from PAXAus and Yug just so I could jump in straight away. Got notification at 10.02am, 3-day pass purchased by 10.06am.

My poor, poor credit card. How I abuse thee.

    Hmmm....what to do.

EDIT: Not sure why I said that, because I immediately purchased afterwards :P

They really should just sell them for the following year at the merch booth at PAX. Or maybe one of those online checkout extras: would you like to add a T-shirt, a bunch of stickers, and a ticket to next year's event? Or maybe just sell multi-year bundles.

These guys just aren't trying hard enough yet!

Do you really want to give the people behind Pinny Arcade more ideas to take our money? They're doing a bang up job of it so far :p

I'm broke until at least tomorrow, so I'm guessing I won't be going. See you Kotaku people at 2016, maybe?

But I wanna watch you buy board and card games again! Plague Rats!

"Tickets for #PAXAus are selling faster than last year" so I doubt I'll be getting one in time

Nob is my hero, he just bought me my ticket for now <3

Two please!. Man Can't wait, booked accommodation 3 weeks ago. Just need flights and I'm done. Can't wait!!

Damnit. I was doing really well at not spending much money this month.

Tickets paid for. Accomodation booked. Just need plane tickets sorted and I'm done :D

*grumbles about holding a convention during stupid hot season*

Sigh, hopefully I can get mine tomorrow with pay - but seriously, they could have waited a few more months before they put them up for sale.

Never been before but thinking of making the trip. Is it similar to EBExpo with more board games?

Apparently I'm going to my first PAX next year. This is mainly due to reading from TAY how much fun people had and how awesome it was.

Fortunately I don't need accommodation, as long as it stays in Melbourne... :)

would love to bring the fam to this, but looks like they will have to miss me while I am there hehe
