While there’s no word on a Western release for the upcoming Yakuza 0, the latest trailer was just too awesome not to share. With English subtitles no less.
The games of the Yakuza series have always been very cinematic, making for some pretty great trailers that give you a very meaty taste of the stories within. The latest released trailer for the game doesn’t really offer more details on the plot than the last one did, but it’s on par in terms of drama, atmosphere, and some pretty fantastic visuals. Check it out below with subtitles added by yours truly.
Yakuza 0: The Place of Promise is scheduled for release on the PS3 and PS4 in Japan on March 12 along with some snazzy custom PS4s. No word on an international release. Yet.

I couldn’t care less about zero, but I so badly want Kenzan! and Ishin!
I think unfortunately that the ship has well and truly sailed on Kenzan, but I’d hope we see Ishin before this. I’d like them all, ideally.
I want them all!
You are not. While I have given up hope on Kenzan ever being localised, I have a JP copy, at least, I am very glad that Yakuza 5 is being localized this year, download only or otherwise it’s a day 1 purchase for sure.
Hopefully it does well enough to prompt them to get onto the other ones awaiting localisation, and as a numbered entry rather than a zombie shooter spin-off I’d like to think it will.
+1 here
Give them all to me… this series is so damn good.
I would MUCH rather play with english subtitles than with an english dub over
I’d kill for the Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Pack on the Wii U to be released here. It’s one of those series I keep meaning to get around to, but I’m not really a Sony controller kind of guy, and it would mean I’d have to buy a PS3, and I’m on too much of a retro kick at the moment to do that 😛
