Sorry! This isn’t an actual Paris apartment. But, dang, it sure looks nice.
This Unreal Engine 4 tech demo comes from level designer and 3D artist Benoît Dereau, who, as Eurogamer points out, worked on Dishonored. Such a fancy tech demo featuring a fancy apartment.

It’s a pity we have to wait another decade or so before the consoles catch up and we can actually use this level of graphical fidelity.

FTFY.
As if anything less than a NASA supercomputer could run anything like this. Please stop acting like PCs are that much better than current gen consoles.
Well, it’ll take me longer than a decade to afford a nice looking place like this, so the consoles’ got time…
I’ve heard it a thousand times before, but really you can’t blame consoles for the lack of or slowing down of game technology. If devs really are interested enough, they will make this kind of thing for PCs regardless. Hell look at Star Citizen.
Well the thing is, they just want as much money as they can get. Not everyone has a decent gaming PC so they buy a console. Sell it on Console and you have more eyes on your product. That’s what is holding us back. If developer completely abandoned consoles we would be better off I say. But that won’t happen.
But, when you have people like the creators of Star Citizen, then good things happen. They are the people who won’t be dragged down by consoles. Here’s a quote from one of the devs.
So, it may in fact not be too long before we CAN have games like this, we just need more devs to abandon consoles. Or build a game specifically for PC then port it over and make it look shit so it can run on consoles and sub 1080p and 30FPS.
This really looks like it could be the future of architectural visualisation. Personally I would much prefer looking at something like this on a real estate site than shitty photos from a phone or a digital camera from the early ’00s
