With heaps of props from both movies in the series already in the Toy Box, it’s about time Disney Infinity 2.0 added a couple characters from Tron, and even if they’re from Tron: Legacy.
Call me an old man who’s behind the times, but I will always prefer original Flynn, Tron and Sark to the sulking son and sultry warrior woman from the latest attempt at resurrecting the 1982 Disney classic. Alas, it’s Sam Flynn and Quorra making their debut this evening in the iOS version of Disney Infinity 2.0, with a March arrival slated for its PC counterpart.
Unlock previous figures in the Disney Infinity series, Sam and Quorra are not going to be physical toys, and the characters are not slated for release on consoles. They’re purely digital, which makes a certain sense.
“The iOS version of Disney Infinity has always attracted our largest audience, so we wanted to do something special to celebrate its launch. I can’t think of a more appropriate digital exclusive than Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron,” said John Vignocchi, vice president of production for Disney Infinity via official announcement.
Vignocchi is a massive fan of Tron, which is part of the reason you’re hearing about these two new characters here first. A couple years back during an interview regarding the original Disney Infinity, I bemoaned the lack of Tron characters using my best impression of the Master Control Program from the original movie.
Which leads us to this. I am so sorry.
At least I’ll finally have a pair of characters licensed to drive lightcycles. That’s what’s really important here.

I wish they had done a set from both TRON movies, but happy to see these!
iOS is the most popular version? I find that very hard to believe without some evidence other than ‘it saves us time/money making figures.’
Seems like a very stupid decision to lock off 2 entire characters from console players, especially when figures for them had been promised months ago.
Edit: this wasn’t meant to be a reply 🙁
I agree whole heartedly. But then I can see how it would be. I know a lot of people who bought the figures, registered them and use them on the IOS version and PC version as well. Ah well :\
This pisses me off so freaking much, I own every single disney infinity figure and I’m totally not cool with these being digital only… Lazy fuckers
