Not all World of Warcraft players are on board with the idea of selfies — that most modern of photography, um, “techniques” — infiltrating their fantasy home away from home, but the ones who are really dig them. Here are some of the best.
First, complete chaos from talesoflumin:
Here’s bluhawke with a selfie mid-raid:
A stealthie deep in enemy (read: Horde) territory, from Zivhayr:
A not-stealthy-at-all-ie from Ghaghzull, deep in different enemy (read: Alliance) territory:
An artsy shot from necrotica, thanks to the S.E.L.F.I.E. cam’s hard-to-come-by upgrade that adds, among other things, filters:
And here’s some unintentionally NSFW selfie, er, action from Moeshizzlebang:
Now moving into dangerously cute (but also murder-prone) territory, here’s Scootallo after a job well done:
Progressing even further into “too cute, must vomit”-tropolis, we’ve got Jelliebean and her magnificent head bird:
Here’s Drubearymore reminding us not to eat our shoulder pads:
The most dignified of orc poses from Barbarossa:
And finally, an almost absurdly gargantuan selfie album from 3365CDQ, who documented her entire journey across Azeroth to get the new field photographer achievement. Here are just a few:
Have you seen any particularly rad/goofy/dumb WoW selfies? Or have you taken any yourself? Post away. Methinks it’s time for a selfie-off.

Kind of glad I unsubbed now
You’re not the only one. I stopped playing after New Years and planned to return with 6.1. However, seeing this crap suddenly flood my Twitter feed and now showing up as articles, I’m glad I walked away. I’m not going to say this is going to kill WoW, but this creates a bleeding wound that’s started the game on its death march.
I remember when a time when a patch like this (example; 2.1, 2.2, 2.3) etc were considered “content” patches.
If this is “content” then…. good lord…
Fortunately, this isn’t the only thing in the 6.1 patch. Also interesting that you mention patch 2.2 – what content was added in that patch again?
2.2 was not mentioned for any reason other than to be an example.
Try not to look into things so much mate. I’m fully aware there is more in this patch, nothing that would keep me interested though. I look at games like FFXIV bringing out plenty of new content of greater quality more frequently and yet wonder why WoW is still more successful.
2.2 introduced voice chat but no content. There were a few 1.x patches that did the same. I’m just saying it’s not a recent change to the modus operandi for minor versions to not be content patches, it’s been that way occasionally since vanilla.
I agree that compared to some previous patches, this one is light on content. The continuation of the legendary chain will be interesting at least.
And still no Dance Studio ….
Gnomes look a lot more cute now, love it. I’ll stick with my Tarutaru and Lalafell any day though.
the character creation for 11 tarutaru with the running around and falling over with the dainty little tune playing in the background was the selling point for my character back in the day
*sigh* this was the most pointless waste of space content added to this patch; that said it was a tiny footnote on everything else this patch brought to the xpac so easy enough to ignore it =P
Pepe. The birds name is Pepe and he’s the damn greatest thing to ever be added.
