There’s a new Dragon Ball movie coming out. Dubbed Dragon Ball Z: The Resurrection of F, the movie features the return of Dragon Ball’s greatest villain, Frieza. A new trailer reveals the character’s new form — something that is dividing Dragon Ball fans.
The new form is being called “Golden Frieza.” Design-wise, it looks similar to white and purple form, but with a gold and purple palette. On Twitter, some fans are quick to praise the form, saying it looks cool, while others are either poking fun or criticising it.
Here are some favourable views on Golden Frieza.

I like the new blue and black Frieza.
NO.
*chortles*
He’s clearly white and gold.
I’m not sure if you’re rehashing the joke from the article for some reason, or just didn’t read the whole thing…
Oooh, it’s the Evil Mani Mani!
Why haven’t I seen a Xenoverse review here? IGN hasn’t reviewed it either
I asked the same thing in TAY. Polygon hasn’t posted it either. Reaaaaally strange considering it’s one of the better DBZ games to come out in years.
Yeah it’s a bit dumb me asking this because I already bought it and I’m really enjoying it after the initial learning curve (and restarting with a new character cause I didn’t specialise enough with the stats). But still, I wanted to hear some views on it.
If there’s any advice I can give you – approach the last boss and Bardock mission with a level head.
You can gather the Dragon Balls and wish for a second chance at life, which lets you reallocate your boost stats. You can get them pretty quickly if you farm the Attack of the Saiyans Parallel Quest (number 5 I think). That said if you want all the achievements you’ll have to gather them seven times to unlock all the attacks and characters, so it’s a bit of a waste of work. It’s probably more work than it’s worth if you’re under level 30. Still handy to know if you reach level 50 and decide you don’t like how your character plays.
Personally I put my points into strike attacks which was a mistake. I prefer that fighting style but so many of the later fights are just me starting a combo then the opponent breaking out on hit three with free melee range damage and a knockback. It’s also not great if you’re fighting multiple opponents.
I’ve heard the Spirit Bomb is pretty sweet if you spec into blasts. It’s a pain learning to target your blasts but keeping everything at range works pretty well.
Super Vanishing Ball. Supernova. Death Ball. WIth high Ki Blast and a Super Saiyan/Vegeta, Broly drops within minutes EDIT I mean seconds.
If you guys wanna play, feel free to add me on if you’re on PS4: terrakah .
I think I may, cheers mate
I might jump in on that as well, if you don’t mind? Don’t really have anyone else to play with at the moment. I’m AshuraMGS3SUB.
Yeah man no worries, go for it. I generally only play for an hour after 5pm (NZ Time) on the weekdays (minus friday afternoons) . On the weekends I’m either splitting my time between Xenoverse and Destiny, for 80% of the day. Just give me a holla if you wanna play or need help with PQ farming 🙂
Will do. Thanks mate. 🙂
Yeah I went for strike initially, but decided to change to a Namekian Ki user, spending most points into Ki supers. I don’t think that was the best race choice but I’m progressing fine for the moment. I knew you could reset your stats with Dragon Balls but I wanted to make sure the character was adequate to finish the main story without doing that. One gripe – it sucks having to finish the game before any other character slots open up!
Gold and purple. Lookin’ fabulous, hun!
Not a fan of the colour scheme but I can live with it. Although it’s a bit of a let down that his new ultimate form is just his old final from in a different colour. I mean even Super Saiyans get spikey hair to go with their palette swap.
Considering that Cooler started in essentially Frieza’s final form and then went further – I’m surprised that Toriama didn’t further that line. Disappointed, but I could think of worse colours.
What Frieza could have been – Thanks Xenoverse!

@DogMan and roguexa: My thoughts exactly
Super Saiyan Frieza.
It should be her racial god form, like Goku obtained in the previous movie. Will see.
who gives a shit
The colour scheme is interesting but overall it just seems lazy, why revive the characters who biggest wow moments was seeing his successive over the top new transformations to just make his newest form a palette swap, this isn’t the 16bit era anymore
So in the same way that Goku/Vegeta etc, experienced big loss/died and now their hair goes yellow/gold…… Freeza is a Super (enter his race here)!!!!!!
I don’t really care what he looks like, as long as the movie focuses more on the badass epic fight scenes and less on stupid corny humour like Battle of Gods did. Man was that movie a disappointment!
So he basically turned Super Saiyan? Why is everyone losing their shit?
EDIT: Yes, I know he didn’t actually turn into a Super Saiyan, but their hair turns yellow/gold, and now Frieza did too.
I just hope this movie has a lot more action.
“New” anything divides fans of anything.
I don’t mind the gold, but I’d have liked a bit more of variation on his body shape, as there were in his previous transformations.
Are we seriously debating the new colour of Freeza? NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERDS
So effing keen.
I am so glad that even after all these years DBZ is still relevant. Kids these days will never know what they missed, all those mornings watchin cheeze tv just for dbz and pokemon.
:’)
Golden frieza makes me hard
