I did a post the other day on Total War’s art, which has been collected into a book, and while looking at that publisher’s site I saw something that made me lose my shit, just a little. It was a book called Warbirds.
It’s a book full of images done by Adam Tooby, whose job is to draw military aircraft doing badass things. The kind of things that were all over the posters covering my bedroom walls when I was a kid.
The book — and Adam’s art in general — spans everything from the First World War to the present day.
When I’m old and grey, and have given up video game writing for model battleships and expensive Scotch, I’d hope pics like this can be all over my walls once again.

I need a copy of this book.
Holy god that’s amazing! That Hawker Hurricane and the White Cliffs of Dover… Incredible!
Awesome. Could happily litter my walks with this art work.

Daaaaayuuuuummmm! Boy knows how to draw warbirds!…
wrong. There’s stuff that’s wrong such as the SR-71’s colour scheme and lack of a second set of windows.
Pretty sure its the A-12, which is the predecessor to the SR-71.
