Briefly: With Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, designer Hideo Kojima is embracing PC owners with open arms. The PC version of The Phantom Pain will arrive on September 15, just two weeks after the console launch.

Hopefully that date doesn’t slip, not sure why it’s only two weeks (seems almost arbitrary).
Of course it’s arbitrary. Kojima wants to piss off PC gamers.
If I had it to burn, I’d bet big money the date slips.
And I’d also bet something along the lines of “We want the PC players to have the bestest experience evar!!!” is used as the excuse.
Instead of the more truthful “We’d rather sell as many copies on console as we possibly can… And we can’t do that if we don’t force not only the paying PC gamers, but also all the pirates (because all game piracy in history has only ever occurred on the evil PC), to wait even longer so they just give up and buy it on console anyway.”

I wonder if it will have letterboxing and locked 30FPS. If it doesn’t I have no want to play it as it would be cinematic enough for my eyes.
Don’t joke about that, I’ve seen people genuinely requesting that it be limited to 720p on newer consoles because it feels more cinematic than 1080p,

considering MGS5 ground zeroes is already on pc with the same engine running in 1080p 120fps flawlessly I don’t think theres anything to worry about.
I just want a locked in date for the release in general. I want a week off work to enjoy the shit out of the Phantom Pain and I need to book that leave (I’m one of those people who never take leave so I have shit-tonnes of it) ahead of time.
Dammit, I’m going to end up with both versions.
