You may think because you’ve logged impressive viewing hours, you know everything about anime. Sorry, you don’t. There’s more history to be discovered.

Since this past February, Twitter site Anime in History has been unearthing historical images from the National Anime Archives. These are rare and unseen photos that show just how important anime has been through the last century.
For example, you thought Attack on Titan only started in 2009? Silly you! The top image dates from 1945.
