Bloodborne is a punk. A savage, brutal punk — and I’m not just saying this because of all the challenging encounters with werewolves and tentacle monsters.
As we’ve chronicled in the past, Souls games do have a sense of humour . A twisted sense of humour, but they have a funny bone just the same. Bloodborne is no different!
(Spoilers for Chalice Dungeons ahead!)
As Bloodborne players know, the game offers an optional randomly-generated dungeon mode called Chalice Dungeons. Chalice Dungeons are some of the toughest portions of Bloodborne, and if players can survive them, they are rewarded handsomely. There’s some rad gear inside of Chalice Dungeons. There are also some more troll-like items inside of Chalice Dungeons, hilariously enough.
One of the items you can find inside of Chalice Dungeons is called a “Ring of Betrothal.” Here’s the item description, in case you’re curious:
Turns out, you can use this item to propose to a character named Annalise Queen of the Vilebloods:
Ouch, lady. It’s not like players had to risk everything to get you such an awesome ring or anything. But, more seriously, it just wouldn’t be Bloodborne if she said yes now would it? Besides, she has a point:
You can badger her about it though. In which case she will shut you down again, hard:
You can watch the rejection here, in this footage by uzl36:
It’s OK. We all know Eileen is the best Bloodborne waifu anyway.

i was fairly straight faced up until reading this, then i lost it… 😀
No, no, I think she’s got a point. Eileen’s got that self-reliant grit, and even though she’s a little older, she’s a tough bird.
Personally though, I’m on Team Alfred for my little hunter. He’s just so cheerful and optimistic in the face of all that’s happened, and not in some sadistic pleasure-seeking way, but out of a resilience of spirit. He’s able to stay pleasant and genuinely helpful, despite his grim purpose and its inevitable resolution. Plus he’s just dreamy.
I presume that you are thinking about making him your husbando? (Man, the use of waifus & husbandos is getting really creepy to the point of yaderism)
