Briefly: Dragon Quest VIII — an excellent JRPG that was first released in 2004 on the PS2 — is being re-released (with improvements, like an orchestral score) on the 3DS in 2015. It will be out in Japan on August 27.

YESSSSSSSSS!!! I loved DQ8!
One of the best Dragon Quests. I approve!
2004?! #feelingold
I’d be half expecting dodgy 3d models of 2d characters as per the Final Fantasy re-releases.
Still, another reason to get me a 3ds
No release date for the west? Please don’t let that mean we aren’t getting it.
I really hope we can get it… considering it was done for PS2… I don’t own a 3DS but I’d buy one just for this.
that’s good to hear and all, but where DQ7?
I’ve still got DQ8 on the PS2 but never got to finish it because of that brutal end boss (his 1st stage). Love it so much. A very well done game.
Since don’t have a working TV right now, hope that they push the Western release of it.
