Here’s the very first trailer for the Minecraft adventure game Minecraft: Story Mode by Telltale Games. It looks like a proper Telltale adventure with lovely characters (with a main character called Jesse) and according to the Telltale blog the game will also have a pretty cool cast.
You’ll control protagonist Jesse throughout the season, as portrayed by actor Patton Oswalt. Jesse and his group of friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone; four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon. The Order are the very best at what they do: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect. While at EnderCon, Jesse and his friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and they must set out on a journey to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save their world from oblivion.
The season will feature Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens. Look for further casting details to come!
You can watch all the Minecraft related panels here on Twitch. The size of the crowd was relly impressive during the opening.

Dammit Telltale… I’d play the crap out of that
Actually watched the video on Youtube and the comment section… Wow! What is with the hate on the game?
Do people not understand that this is an announcement trailer and that by the time this game launches we’ll already have completed most current Telltale games? I mean,we had the Borderlands & GoT announcement while we were playing Walking Dead 2.
If the hate is because of the Minecraft setting, why? Are Telltale not allowed to make a game that’s a bit more light-hearted and kid-friendly than their current lineup? The first two games of Telltales I played that made me love them were Tales of Monkey Island and Back to the Future. They were great games that had plenty of humor.
Also, considering we have Walking Dead 3 slated for 2016, it’s not like there isn’t any mature games on the horizon…
Don’t forget that one with the Big Bad Wolf. Really should pick that up, played the first episode as a free promo on my phone, was quite good.
Funny thing is I’ve owned Wolf Among Us for ages now and have yet to actually play it. Every time I finish a game and move to the next one I always forget about it, then halfway through playing the game I chose I am somehow reminded about it and again think to myself, “Yeah, I’ll play that next.”.
Then repeat that cycle about 9 times at this point…
I have a problem.
Wolf Among Us is very good 🙂
I have no idea. This looks great to me and I love how telltale space out stuff to be honest. Keeps anticipation high.
The people hating on it are using ‘autistic’ as if it were an insult. These aren’t intelligent people by any stretch of the imagination, their opinions are essentially worthless.
Reading the comments was your first mistake.
Youtube and any news article.
It feels like Telltale can take any game franchise, plug it into their engine and make a 5 episode story game.
And I love every minute of it.
I’m surprised microsoft are still allowing use of their licence on other platforms
Seeing as it’s been cross platform for awhile before MS bought it, they would get raked over the coals if they pulled that.
Plus, they get money for essentially nothing – Telltale is developing the game.
Never been a fan of the way the eyes look in that style.
It’s an interesting idea, but at the same time seems completely stupid to me.
It’s a weird choice – completely antithetical to what Minecraft is and why it’s popular. That doesn’t make it bad as such, just a curious direction to take a game that’s fundamentally about creativity and freedom.
