This Week In Games: Dry July

Hey! Video games. There are hardly any new ones.

Unless you go to Steam, where the flow of garbage (mixed with a few hidden gems) never ends. Check out what’s coming out this week. A couple of interesting games in here actually.

Cosmophony (PC)

What is it? Yes! A musical based shooter thing like Rez. I love games like this!
Should you care? Well, this is right up my alley, but it has reviewed well, so check it out. Super keen.

F1 2015 (Xbox One/PS4/PC)

What is it? Hey it’s the F1 game. It’s always here, always pretty good if you like that kind of thing.
Should you care? Sure, why not.

Fragile Ball (PC)

What is it? A super simple physics platform where you move a ball around.
Should you care? Looks a bit meh.

Gunpowder (PC)

What is it? A puzzle game with a sweet aesthetic.
Should you care? Apparently this is really good, really well made.

Knee Deep (PC)

What is it? A weird noir looking adventure that starts when an actor hangs himself.
Should you care? Sure, why not. Been getting good reviews.

Prompt (PC)

What is it? A super super minimalist platformer that’s apparently super hard.
Should you care? Man, this looks really cool. I could get behind that.

Rocket League (PC)

What is it? A video game where soccer meets driving. Wow. Looks insane.
Should you care? Visually, this seems like a corker. Looks really, really well put together.

SMITE (Xbox One)

What is it? It’s the accessible, third-person MOBA thing all the kids are talking about.
Should you care? Well, I think it’s probably a great MOBA to start with, particularly on console. Give it a bash.

Spectra (PC)

What is it? A twitch racer that looks like something out of Tron.
Should you care? I like these kinds of games, but it looks visually arresting. Worth a gander.

TIMEframe (PC)

What is it? This is interesting. Explore the a civilisation on the brink of ruin. Time is relative, 10 seconds can feel like an eternity.
Should you care? I don’t really understand this concept, but it looks well produced and interesting.

Traverser (PC)

What is it? A stealth puzzler by Adult Swim.
Should you care? It looks good and has received some positive early press. I think it looks a bit off, but don’t let that stop you.

Picking anything up this week? Did I miss anything? Let me know in the comments.
