Was Friday The 13th On NES Really That Bad? Honest Game Trailers Thinks So

Some games stand the test of time better than others. Tetris? Check. Doom? Yep. Friday the 13th on NES? Was that ever good? According to the folks at Honest Game Trailers, nope.

At the sole request of “Keith C” (and a quirky “Why not?” for Halloween), HGT has tackled the pixelated mess that was Friday the 13th. While not the most memorable of games, it does have one of the more recognisable horror franchises attached to it so, uh, it must have some redeeming qualities, right?

Experience the game so horrifically bad, that it killed Friday the 13th games for over two decades.

I guess not.

Apparently, Friday the 13th couldn’t even get its borrowed mechanics to feel fun:

Then, take on Jason in an awful combat minigame that feels like Punch-Out!! if it were designed by people that hate children.

On a related note, there’s a Kickstarter for a new game, if you happened to miss that, but with 13 days to go and $570,000 of $700,000 raised, it could just miss out on being funded.
