As jackfrags recently found out, Dragon Valley is hiding a number of juicy secrets that make other famed Battlefield 4 secrets look quaint by comparison. I am in awe that anybody managed to figure this out.
Recently, Battlefield 4 received a holiday update patch that included a number of tweaks and bug fixes. It also came with a new map pack, which included an area known as Dragon Valley — veteran players might know this as a locale from Battlefield 2. The Battlefield 4 version is not just an updated remake with better graphics, though.
So, there’s a part of the map with lanterns…
If you stick around for long enough, these lanterns start flickering. It’s morse code! Jackfrags translated it, and this sent him on a ridiculous journey full of codes, puzzles, and secret switches. It’s the sort of thing that required Jackfrags to draw out diagrams…
…not to mention, finding specific things on the map to blow up. The entire thing is really wild — you should watch the video to hear him work through it all.
At the very end of the puzzle, what Jackfrags unlocks is this:
A special kit that, previously, only the developers could wear. It’s really snazzy! But what gets me the most about this is, even if you watch the video, you can’t just run into your game of Battlefield and skip to the last step. Every person attempting this will get a unique code which they must redeem in order to unlock the camo, which means that you can’t cut corners with this puzzle. DICE, you sly devil.

About halfway in I still had the delusion that i’d be able to get this one done. By the end I was shown the error of my ways and will happily salue anyone who actuall puts the effort in for this one.
After finishing the Phantom assignments and getting my bow, I was happy. Don’t think I could be bothered with this one. Love BF and it’s easter eggs though, so much fun.
