The Music Videos Are My Favourite Part Of Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem

When I started playing Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, I expected a lot of things: summonable demons, Fire Emblem characters, turn-based RPG gameplay and so on. What I didn’t expect? A ton of animated music videos for the game’s rocking soundtrack.

The plot of Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem revolves around a group of people dealing with extradimensional invaders known as “Mirages” that have come to our world to collect energy from humans — specifically the “performa” energy we give off when following our dreams or being inspired. Thus, most attacks occur at concerts or other similar events.

As our heroes have no idea when the next attack is coming, they spend most of their downtime increasing their own amount of performa — by becoming entertainers in their own right.

Going through the plot and side quests, you unlock several anime cutscenes showing off new songs from your characters. And wouldn’t you know, they’re pretty damn good songs. Take a listen!

“Reincarnation” by Kiria Kurono
