Add cel=shaded screenshots to the Australian rating, achievements and cover art for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan. The still unannounced game has leaked so much I’m beginning to suspect Activision is trying out a new viral marketing technique.
Perhaps last year’s pre-E3 leak of Transformers: Devastation worked out so well that somewhere behind-the-scenes there’s a person assigned to affect a slow trickle of information for Platinum Games’ next cel-shaded cartoon-based brawler, like these first screens obtained by the folks at pureXBOX.
I love the idea of “leak marketing”. It seems like a fun way to include the gaming community in the process making them feel all ick about it. I’m looking forward to the leaked trailer halfheartedly being pulled from YouTube a few times and the release date discovered via a Canadian Best Buy listing.
Fun!

It’d be nice if this turned out to be good.
The art style is fantastic. I’m always a sucker for cel-shading.
Cel shading can be cool, but I don’t like it in this context 🙁
I just had a hunt around and most of the reiterations of TMNT look horrible, must be a hard series to work with. I like the grittiness of the real ones even though they’re not cartoony.
Looks about as polished as Transformers Devastation, hopefully they decrease the amount of time given for the dodge mechanics or increase the window to work when the flash appears like it does in bayonetta.
