Video games took in US$46,177,705 on Kickstarter in 2015, according to new stats released today by the crowdfunding company. That’s significantly more than 2014 but not quite as much as Kickstarter made from games in 2013.
Close to 25% of that money came solely from Shenmue III and the Castlevania spiritual successor Bloodstained, which raised US$6.3 ($9) million and US$5.5 ($8) million, respectively. Kickstarter says there were 421 successful video game projects this year — here’s hoping they will all actually deliver.
Kickstarter creators also raised a ton of money last year on tabletop games, garnering US$88,916,039 ($127,169,586).
