As far as Pokémon trainers go, Ash isn’t that potent. As far as little kids go, he is superhuman.
The 10-year-old isn’t only strong for a little boy, he’d be strong for a grown man. As Kotaku previously pointed out, this is because Ash is insanely strong. To recap:
Ash picks up Pignite, who weighs 55.5kg, and doesn’t even strain himself.
Ash carries Larvitar, who weighs 72kg, easy as pie.
Recently, Japanese children’s show Oha Suta wondered if Ash had Herculean strength and pointed out more examples of why the character “might be superhuman”. Might? This kid is.

Not only can he carry Hippopotas, who weighs 49.5kg, in his arms…

He can carry this Pokémon on his friggin’ head.

He can bust up an iron cage just by ramming up against it.

He can block Pokémon attacks with his body.

The world record for the high jump is 2.45m.

By the show’s estimate, here we see Ash jumping over 5m!

Suddenly, this figure makes perfect sense.

OK am I the only one who thinks this is a bit over analytical of a kids show? It’s Pokemon it’s a 30 minute ad for a Video Game.
I think the real reason is which pokemon are we showing off this episode and how should Ash interact with them, followed by none of the Animators checking Pokedex.
*Blocks ears*
LAH, LAH, LAH, Pokemon is not a kids show, Pokemon is LIFE
I don’t know man… I kinda like the idea of Ash having superhuman strength.
Of course it’s overanalytical. It’s also just a but of fun mate.
*butt
Lol oops
Well, it also explains how he can cop a thunderbolt from Pikachu and shrug it off 🙂
By that logic team rocket are superhuman also, surviving countless electrocutions from Pikachu.
Not to mention getting smashed, and flying kilometres away through the air before coming back next episode.
With these powers Ash should fight pokemon on his own, no need for his own pokemon.
He’s already immortal. Might as well add super strength to it.
He isn’t immortal, he is just eternally 10 years old. One of these days we will find a way to be rid of him
bring in Red, Blue and Green to smash him
