The third and presumably final 2D Assassin’s Creed Chronicles game is out this week and looks even better than last month’s one set in India. We captured video of its first level.
Look at that smoke! Look at this skyline!
The game’s mouthful of a title is Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia. It’s set in 1918 and, as you’ll see in the clip, offers more of the 2D sneaking, climbing and killing of the China and India editions of the game.
The developers at Climax have added a couple of other things to this one.
There’s some sniping…
You can distract guards by calling them on the phone, though you should walk away before they answer…
You can also turn out the lights, shortening the enemies’ cone of vision (this, dear reader is from the second level of the game, something not seen in the video. Consider it a Reading Exclusive!):
And, with this release, the AC Chronicles series is probably done. A beautiful experiment, all, even if they weren’t the most fun things to play ever.
All three games are out for PS4, Xbox One, PC and PlayStation Vita.

That is beautiful.
All the reviews are mediocre, though, so I think I’ll skip this. And I’m a big AC fan, playing every single game, even the mobile games, except the PSP one as I never owned one. You’ve got to wean yourself off somehow…
