Dayshot: Skywind, part of the Elder Scrolls Renewal project, aims to recreate Morrowind in Skyrim’s engine. It has been in development since 2012 and probably won’t be ready for a while. To help cope with that fact, I look at the team’s progress videos as mere instances of 3D Morrowind fan art. So let’s look at some fan art!
So, what’s there to see? Landscapes, mostly, along with several new interior tilesets (think of them as building blocks for Skywind’s indoor areas). As expected, it all looks quite nice while preserving that Vvardenfell feel. Watch:
That’s good fan art.
You can catch up with all the videos the Skywind team’s released here. You can also volunteer to help the project, if you feel up for it.
Dayshot showcases some of the prettiest, funniest game-related screenshots and art that we can find.

How about a “Dungeon Hack” remake using the Skyrim engine?
Infinitely deep, randomly generated dungeons to explore. Would have to be quicker to get that going than rebuilding a campaign style game.
This looks amazing, nostalgia overcame me in a way I didn’t expect. Best of luck to them, would be nice if Todd Howard lent them some people to help.
Sadly its the only way i will ever finish Morrowind.
I borrowed a friends version on the OG ecksbawks. Never finished it as i had to give it back before i could.
Went to buy it on steam. No Controller support. 🙁
That shouldn’t stop you. There’s several applications you can get that will map keys to a control pad. JoyToKey for example.
ill have to look into this. thanks.
