To be honest that last bit is just a guess, but I’m 90 per cent sure.
Maybe 80 per cent.
Introduced this weekend at Japan’s bi-annual Wonder Festival toy show, this tiny robot version of virtual idol Hatsune Miku is a collaboration between Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid and iDoll, a company that’s known for its little dancing anime girls. They do not make murder machines. Certainly not intentionally.
iDoll released a teaser for the figure last week. Now we’ve got a full concept video I may or may not have watched a dozen times over in the past couple of hours.
She sings! She dances! She communicates! She probably doesn’t pull free of her base, waddle over to your bed and climb into your throat while you’re sleeping. And really if she did, it would still be kind of cool. You’d be a legend at anime conventions.
But no need to worry about such things for the time being. The tiny Hatsune Miku robot is merely a working concept created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Good Smile’s popular Nendoroid line of big-headed action figures. They have not decided to release them to the public yet, so there’s still a chance to travel back in time from the future to stop them.

As a Nendoroid collector with about 250 of them… the idea of them moving around like this freaks the crap out of me.
I’ve got this image of your bedroom, with nendoroid figurines perched on every available flat surface… watching you as you sleep…
They’re mainly in boxes and not in the bedroom right now. Well, not in my bedroom.
Nice collection!
It’s gotten way out of control unfortunately and I’m going to have to liquidate it to about 1/3 of its current size at some point 🙁
yep me too.
all 250 heads slowly turn and look at him….
that’s a terrifying concept. I had to turn my L from Death Note nendoroid away from me just now.
If it cost less than $100 I’d buy one for my office. It’d be useful for when I’m seeing clients. I’d be like “…and that’s my view. What do you think, Miku-chan?”
Oh I’ll be getting one of these 😉
