Look, people have opinions about Quiet’s character design. If you don’t like it, that’s totally understandable. If you do, there are companies ready to take your money.
One of those companies is Japanese toy firm Gecco, who in June/July will be releasing this 1/6 scale (around 30cm high) statue of the silent sniper, which features interchangeable weapons and faces. It’s … OK, so even as someone who thinks her design is a bit naff, this is a very nice statue, doing its job — of recreating the character’s likeness — almost perfectly.
It’s going to cost $US289 ($398).

Hmm…
Nice… textures…
$400 dollarydoos!
I’m going to assume those are production blemishes in various places. Not what people want to see imo.
Also the face shape is a bit inaccurate, but maybe this is intentional/so Joosten doesn’t feel creeped out by the idea of these being made.
Nice detail though.
Why should she be creeped out? Joosten isn’t Australian, she embraces quiet.
holy shit, that detail.
I was really put off by quiets outfit at first…but after a few moments of though I realised I play Dead or Alive and don’t complain about their outfits.
Cool statue though.
That looks really nice but I cant justify the price to order one lol
Seems pretty standard pricing for something like this…
I was always torn on Quiets design.
On one hand I liked her design for obvious reasons, while on the other it was sometimes so obvious and in your face that it made me cringe.
I recall when Kojima revealed Quiet and in reply to some backlash said something along the lines of, when you find why she needs to dress like that it will make sense.
Of course by the end I realised it was more about her powers suiting her clothing than vice versa.
Thankfully Quiet turned out to be a complete badarse as well as eye candy so it was kind of a win win I suppose.
Eventually her clothing didn’t matter any more and she was just an awesome character (Until the rain scene where I sat mesmerised, gf laughing at me as I mumbled forced and incoherent outrage with long silences.)
I had no problem with the character design. I thought she is quite attractive. Practicality is for the real world, not really a necessity for games.
$400 for painted plastic…they could’ve at least used some bloody fabric etc
