OK I see another response to MGDMT. Don’t Tailgate when your on a Motorcycle if you can’t stop instantly be further back.
You don’t know why they stopped, did they see a Hazard? An animal? Many years ago at Tafe I was crossing the road at the Zebra Crossing. The 1st car came to a halt, the 2nd car gunned it around him and nearly killed people, His response was I didn’t know you where crossing the road. It’s not my fault. The police who where there disagreed with his assessment.
My motorcycle instructor told me this which I live by now.
“99% of all Motorcycle crashes are the riders fault – 1% being if a car in oncoming traffic changes into your lane.
Anything else – absolutely anything else is up to you – didn’t expect gravel on the corner? your fault – didn’t keep enough distance from car infront? your fault – Hit by a car running an intersection when you have right of way? your fault. You control how you approach those situations.
You are exposed on a machine capable of traveling up to 100kph at the mercy of physics and gravity, there are no crumple zones, no brace bars and no airbags. If a drop of oil on the road is all it takes to make you fall when cornering at 60kph but is able to be compensated for at 40kph you’re the one who decides how fast you take those corners you know nothing about till you’re in them. Never assume on a bike – always be suspicious of intersections, roads, other cars and pedestrians because it’s not if you fall of your bike it’s when and the more careful you are the further when is”
Although he was way more eloquent in explaining it.
Dojima vs Dojima stone cold lol
