Let’s be honest, this is a fairly sparse week for video games. It’s slim pickings.
But here’s what we do have: a Day of The Tentacle remaster I’m excited about and Trackmania on consoles for the first time. Hallelujah.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada (PC)
What is it? An RTS game based on the tabletop game of the same name.
Should you care? Sure, if you’re a fan of the tabletop game. Otherwise, nah.
Day Of The Tentacle Remastered (PC/PS4/PS Vita)
What is it? Oh man, it’s Day of the Tentacle remastered. I’m down for this.
Should you care? I actually never played the original. So I think I’m gonna jump in on this. Probably for the Vita.
Holodrive (PC)
What is it? It’s a 2D multiplayer shooter, set in space. With weird weapons. Someone else called it “Super Mario Quake”.
Should you care? I think it looks pretty good. Check it out.
Hyrule Warrior Legends (3DS)
What is it? It’s a Zelda spin-off from Koei Tecmo. It’s Hyrule Legends with a bunch of new stuff.
Should you care? I’m not too interested, but Hyrule Warrior fans will love it.
Polaris Sector (PC)
What is it? As far as I can see, this is a strategy/simulation game about harvesting planets — but as realistic as you can make it. There is a lot going on in this game.
Should you care? It seems as though there has been a lot of thought and work put into this, but it’s a niche title. Looks great though.
Professional Farmer 2017 (PC)
What is it? It’s a farming simulator.
Should you care? I actually really want to play this. All the joy of farming without the back-breaking labour.
Republique (PS4)
What is it? An episodic mobile game, with super high production values, all in one package.
Should you care? Sure why not. Apparently this is pretty good.
Solstice (PC)
What is it? It’s a visual novel — a “dystopian mystery thrillier”.
Should you care? I usually ignore visual novels when it comes to This Week In Games, but this is apparently really good.
Total War Attila: Tyrants and Kings (PC)
What is it? It’s Total War Attila, with extra stuff.
Should you care? It’s all about Total War: Warhammer for us in the office, but this might tide you over.
Trackmania Turbo (Xbox One/PS4/PC)
What is it? It’s the first ever Trackmania game on consoles.
Should you care? I’m excited actually. I’ve never played this series before — the fact that it’s on console intrigues me.
Did we miss anything? What are you excited about this week? Let us know in the comments below!

Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed PC
Nelly Cootalot – The Fowl Fleet PC
Way of the Samurai 3 PC
Samorost 3 PC
Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut Wii U
Slain PC
Neptunia U on PC? Interesting. Such an awesome game on the Vita, not sure I can grind all over again on PC but good for PC players to experience this
Slain is lookin so good! I might be a little biased though since I’m friends with the dev 😉
WHAAAAT? I didn’t even know there was another Samarost in development!!!
You just made my day Casual Prolix!!
Hyrule warriors for sure, will be my third time trough and I still love it! Might get the fallout dlc either that or get salt and sanctuary or wait for resident evil 6 HD
And mark day of the tentacle is a masterpiece, loved it as a kid the first game I ever played where I had to think instead of just running people over in my car or blasting demons in the face.
Chronojohn … hah! I so love that.
Can’t believe Serrels hasn’t played DOTT. Almost jealous. Wish I could erase my memory and start it again.
DOTT was the first game I’ve started up after Dad bought us our first sound card. Hearing digitised speech was awesome after being used to blips and blops from the PC speaker. Special place in my heart for DOTT. Agree that it’s a masterpiece, however there is a possibility that its nostalgia speaking.
Word around the Jesus F*ck Nintendo camp fire is if you get Hyrule Warriors on something older than a New 3DS you’re gonna have a bad time.
Usually I’d recommend asking the expert at the counter but yeah………
Frame rate on OG 3DS looks pretty bad compared to New 3DS — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2J98CvVau4
I’ve played the demo &didn’t even realise. :-/
Gonna grab it, see how I go.
I’m excited for the new Disney Infinity Marvel playset.
God damn Day of the Tentacle came around quick. That game is probably the height of point and click adventures.
Will definitely be grabbing DotT (mainly for the commentary).
Will be diving in to the Fallout 4 DLC too, but that’ll be it for me this week.
I wonder if Remastered DotT has Maniac Mansion in it, like the original DotT did.
It does, apparently
Is Maniac Mansion remastered too?
I would also like to know this.
No it isn’t.

Problem is that its not really an “adventure” at this stage as I remember how to complete the game and all the puzzles so its more like a graphic novel rather than an actual challenge.
Heh, yes. I could probably write a walkthrough for DOTT without actually firing the game up at this point 😉
Highly recommend Day of the Tentacle.
You can also find a fully playable version of the original Maniac Mansion (the game before DotT) hidden early within the game.
Is it wrong that I’ll be getting DotT purely so I can play Maniac Mansion on my PS4?
There is no wrong, there is only do, or do not.
No, wait, I think I got that wrong …
Dammit. I had it in my head Dark Souls 3 was this week but that’s just Japan.
Google hath failed me! *sobs quietly*
I didn’t make that mistake and I am still sobbing so don’t feel to bad. By that I mean we can feel bad together.
Battlefleet Gothic Armada is pretty damned good, well worth checking out if you like a slower paced RTS which ends up getting bloody hectic before you realise it.
:O Didn’t realise the new Trackmania was this soon 😀
See Day of the Tentacle is due. Opens GOG and orders immediately. Happy Days!
