The next chapter in the Xbox-exclusive shooter series will be hitting this spring, and players will have to opportunity to sample a multiplayer beta on April 18.
First shown at last year’s E3, Gears of War 4 introduces a crop of new characters to the planet of Sera.
Folks who’ve played the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Window 10 will get first crack at the beta, as long as they log in time by April 11. Access opens up to all Xbox Live Gold members a week later on April 25.

Is this a windows 10 release as well?
Nothing confirmed yet. The beta is only on Xbox One. I don’t have a source for that, can’t remember where I read it.
I’d say it’s a safe bet that there will be a PC version of Gears 4. Hopefully the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) is a bit better by then.
Yup, nothing confirmed yet – though the Coalition studio head did say “possibly”. Given Microsoft being so keen to make other Xbox exclusives PC also, I’d say there’s a good chance.
Which is cool, as I haven’t had a chance to play GoW since I had my 360. Moved to Playstation and PC not long after GoW 2 came out.
